LEADERSHIP KNOXVILLE 30 FOR 30 EVENT PUBLICITY
Leadership Knoxville (LK) reached an incredible milestone in June 2014 with 30 years in business. To celebrate, LK Alumni coordinated the 30 for 30 project and a breakfast that would honor the projects and announce a new nonprofit organization.
Altman Consulting provided publicity for the event and was responsible for creating the media release and advisory, distributing them, coordinating pre-event interviews, and onsite media coordination.
In addition, Altman Consulting worked with a team of volunteers to plan the social media campaign and execution.
All local television networks covered the event as well as one local radio program. Stories ran in local newspaper media as well.
“Leadership Knoxville’s 30 for 30 project was a tremendous success. This would not have happened without the many volunteers who gave freely of their time to make it happen. One of those volunteers was Kristy Altman. I can’t say enough good things about Kristy and her firm Altman Consulting. We were celebrating LK’s 30th birthday along with kicking off Volunteer Knoxville. We needed the community to be aware and Kristy took care of that. We were covered in every form of media due in no small part to Kristy’s many efforts. We will be forever indebted. Thanks Kristy.” Frank Rothermel, Committee Chair, LK 30th Anniversary Project

Launching a new program is an important step. In June 2014, Knoxville Endurance launched the Kick Start program. A 12 week program geared to those wanting to run their first 5K or their first half-marathon, the Kick Start program needs to reach a new audience for Knoxville Endurance. Altman Consulting created media relations and social media campaign plans to promote the program and build participation. A detailed social media calendar was created and executed as well as a media release. Local television and newspapers covered the announcement and social media analytics increased through the duration of the campaigns.
“As a small business owner, I need to focus on my clients and making sure that they achieve their goals. Hiring Altman Consulting to launch our new program allows me to focus on the business while knowing that our communications needs are handled.” Bobby Holcombe, Owner, Knoxville Endurance
Harmony Family Center / Camp Montvale
Nonprofit leaders have a unique position to fulfill the mission and vision of the organization while handling operations and programming duties. Many times, nonprofit leaders and staff don’t have the financial or time resources to implement communications plans.
A current client, Altman Consulting is working with Harmony Family Center to create a long-term communications plan that will increase brand awareness, increase donor support, and increase multi-use activities at Camp Montvale. The campaign will include full media relations, social media, organizational outreach, and event planning components.
“We have a great story to tell and needed someone to help us tell it. Our amazing team of talented professionals spend all their time fulfilling our mission and vision. While we understand the importance of sharing our work with others, developing an effective communications strategy has historically been pushed to the side. Altman Consulting will help us tell the story so that we can help more children and families.” Pam Wolf, Founder and CEO, Harmony Family Center
